Holding a Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) allows you to fly aircraft throughout Australia in visual navigation conditions by day. For those pursuing a career in aviation, a PPL is your first step towards gaining a Commercial Pilot’s Licence.

To obtain a PPL, successfully complete our PPL training program which includes both practical flight training and flight theory subjects as regulated by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA)

AM I ELIGIBLE TO STUDY FOR MY PPL?

Students can begin study at any age but must:

• be 15 to fly solo
• be 17 before CASA will issue a licence
• pass an English language proficiency test

The Private Pilot Licence (PPL) at Amber International Aviation Academy is uniquely designed for each individual based on learning rates, choice of aircraft and the planning of flights. As CASA courses are competency based training, the cost of obtaining a licence will vary based on your rate of learning. Our experienced instructors are committed to providing you with the most cost effective options based on your preferences.

The cost breakdown on the right is based on the minimum flight hours prescribed by CASA. Our experience has demonstrated that most students require more than the CASA minimum

ADDITIONAL INFO

Before you can hold a PPL, the following must be completed:

• Obtain an ARN (Aviation Reference Number) and an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) from CASA
• Pass a medical assessment for a Class 2 Medical conducted by an approved CASA doctor

Your training manager can provide you with the necessary forms and guide you through the process.
